Student Support Promise
Our approach to your education is embodied in the Kings 10 part Student Promise.
1. Contacting you We make the application process as smooth as possible and guarantee a 24-hour turnaround of your fully completed application if received from Monday to Friday, September to June.
2. Preparing you Before you leave home, we’ll send you all the details you need about your course and living arrangements. On your first day at school, we’ll give you a Welcome Pack including a local map and your personal Kings Study File.
3. Teaching you We guarantee that you will be taught by professional teachers who are CELTA or DELTA qualified. We’re confident you’ll succeed. So much so that if you don’t achieve the result we’ve agreed with you in advance you can study for free until you do. This guarantee applies to all students on a course of 12 weeks or more whohave attended all classes and completed all assignments.
4. Developing you You’ll receive a placement test to make sure you’re in the right class for your ability. We’ll also regularly assess your progress throughout your course. If you're on a course of 12 weeks or more, you’ll have a personal interview with the Director of Studies at which we’ll agree your individual Study Action Plan. We’ll also ensure you benefit from teacher-guided independent study sessions outside class if you’re studying for more than 12 weeks. If you intend to go on to university in the UK, we’ll provide you with a free university placement service.
5. Entertaining you We’ll provide a variety of excursions and activities throughout your course to keep you busy and entertained after lessons. At least two activities per week will be free.
6. Housing you We’ll provide you with a choice of catered and self-catered accommodation options including carefully selected host families, student residences and student houses, depending on your location. Our host families know us well and generally live very close to the schools - so close in fact that over 90% of our long-term students live within easy walking distance.
7. Supporting you We’ll give you an emergency 24-hour telephone number for use outside school hours. We’ll also ensure that Kings student counsellors and other staff are available for support or advice. If you require, we’ll provide you with a quiet place forprayer and/or give you details of the local places of worship for your own faith.
8. Nourishing you We’ll provide a choice of good food and will ensure hot lunches are available during the week. We’ll also do all we can to cater for any special dietary needs you might have – just speak to us about your requirements.
9. Connecting you We’ll ensure that you have access to free wireless internet and email within the school. Students coming on our International Diploma of English will also receive a free mobile phone offering some of the lowest available rates for local and international calls from the UK.
10. Rewarding you At the end of your course, we’ll present you with a formal Kings Certificate as documented proof of your achievement. If you’re on a course of 12 weeks or more, you’ll receive your own Portfolio of Learning Development. This includes your formal Kings Certificate and other personal reports.
